Who: Any child entering  2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grade for the year of 2020-2021  wishing to partcipate in Racer Little League Cheerleading 

 (THIS INCLUDES ALL EPIC & NON NEWCASTLE PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS)

 

When: May 4-May 22nd 2020

Where:  Registration is online only

The Following 2 items are required to have at the time of signups:

  1. Completed Digital sign up form ( SEE SIGN UP LINK BELOW) 

  2.  $50.00 non-refundable registration fee (you will be prompted to pay at the end of signup form)

 

Parent Involvement

 

Please be realistic about your ability and your family’s ability to make this commitment. In order to promote teamwork and accountablity, it is highly encouraged that Cheerleading be placed before other activities your child is actively involved in. Please remember that starting in August and lasting through late October, we will be practicing a lot. We need full commitment from parents and cheerleaders. Practice during this time is MANDATORY, unless other arrangments are approved by squad coach.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the board member Via contact form on Home page of website. 

Practices will be held MONDAY AND THURSDAY nights from 6:30-8pm at Newcastle Sports Complex. 

UNIFORM FITTINGS & FEES

After a board meeting held Thursday May 21, it was decided by the board to continue our season in the best way we can. Given the circumstances of the world with unknowns, delays, and postponements, it was decided our standard uniform will be modified for the 2020 season. We will not be using the shell, skirt, half top, or briefs this season. Instead, we are going VINTAGE, and will have a league wide t-shirt and soft shorts. Socks, shoes, pom-poms and warm ups will remain the same. 

 

This decision was not an easy one, but collectively, we as a board decided this is the best option for our league for financial and scheduling efforts. Fittings originally scheduled for May 26 have been postponed as we were unable to obtain the fitting kit from the company we use to size each cheerleader. Our standard uniform takes 2 months to manufacture, if we do not have our order submitted in time, delivery delays will occur. We know and understand that the cost of these uniforms is another consideration. It would be a concern for us if we were to spend the monies, and not obtain our uniforms in time. We also had to consider what fall youth sports will look like. All of these issues combined into our discussion led us to the ultimate choice to utilize a small local business this year and keep costs down, as well as turnaround time for delivery of our vintage uniforms should further changes occur.

 

It is our hope with the modified uniform, parents will understand the situation and more youth cheerleaders will be able to join our league and participate in our mission.  Prices for the modified “VINTAGE” uniform will be announced once obtained.
